Writing Your Ezine: 5 Copy Tips

Anyone who promotes their business online will be well aware of the importance of writing an ezine. Writing one can be a daunting experience for those who are writing one for the first time. There is really no need to be worried though; doing so is simple when you follow certain tips. Take a look at five great tips to help you get started:
1. Begin with a script
Writing an ezine is like talking to a person. There is no fixed way to start a conversation but there are some tried and tested methods that usually work well. Most writers follow a particular formula that works well for them. Some begin with a tip, some with an article and some even use a particular template. When you start writing your ezine, try out a few methods that seem to work for others. See what works best for you and then stick to that formula.
2. Write the way you talk
You should be comfortable when you write your ezine. Your writing style should depict the way you would talk to a good friend. In this way the manner in which you put across your views would seem natural and honest. Put across your thoughts in a logical and rational manner and stick to the point that you are trying to make. Before sending out what you have written, always be sure to re read your final version.
3. Keep abreast of the latest information
Always be aware of new information with regard to the topic that you are writing about. Your subscribers expect you to be updated on issues that you write about. You should subscribe to sites that will provide you with current information on the subject of your choice. It would also be a good idea to carry out your own surveys in order to find out new information that you could write about and pass on to your subscribers.
4. Don’t be shy
Never be afraid to write what you really believe. When you have a point of view on a particular issue, share it with your subscribers. It is important to write about what you believe in. Your subscribers may not always agree with what you have to say, but they would know that you are being honest and would respect you for that.
5. Provide testimonials
Whenever possible, provide testimonials in your ezine. Try and get testimonials from your current subscribers as well as from well- known and well respected professionals in the fields that you write about. This adds to the confidence that your subscribers have in you. If your subscribers write to tell you how much your tips have helped them, add this to your writing. It will help gain your subscribers’ trust.
